Martial Arts Week Sweden, July 8–11, 2015

Training camps, shows, international martial arts masters and elite K1 & muay thai fights! All this and more in Visby on sunny Gotland, July 8–11, 2015.

The seminars and camps start on Thursday, July 9 (n.b. registration on July 8!).

On Saturday, July 11 there will be shows on Almedalsscenen, free try-outs for the public and a big K1 gala at night, plus a luxurious after party!

The event is arranged by Stockholm-Gotlands Budo & Kampsportsförbund and their partners Supremacy League, Stockholm Kung Fu Festival, Idrottens Ö & Wisby Strand.

SHAOLIN KUNG FU

The Shaolin kung fu camp will be led by the Shaolin monk Shi De Jun, master of a kung fu school in Henan, China, with over 5 000 students. He will provide genuine insight in traditional Shaolin kung fu. One of his former pupils, Xing Yongtao (seen on Swedish television Svett & Etikett) will also be instructing. This camp is for anyone with experience from at least one term training kung fu (wushu taolu). There will be various levels of difficulty.

MUAYTHAI

The muaythai camp will have four experienced instructors: Petch-Eak Sitjaopho, who has met many of the big Thai fighters in over 300 fights, is one of the trainers at the Stockholm club OneChai Muaythai. Peter Wetzelmayr is head instructor at OneChai Muaythai in Stockholm, was elected Martial Arts Instructor of the year 2014. Karim Phetphlai is a Thai trainer and fighter who won the WKN Muay Thai World Champion title (-60) in 2011. Nathalie Zoukatas has one SM gold and a silver from NM 2006, and became WMC European female challenger at "The return of the Contenders" in Singapore 2008.

SANDA

The sanda camp will be led by instructors Gunnar Malm of SWI and Sifu Kazim Azizi from Borås Wushu Shaolin, who is an International Sanda referee and has trained beginners to become world class fighters in sanda and kickboxing.

MARTIAL ARTS WEEK SWEDEN

Martial Arts Week Sweden is a yearly event organized by Stockholm-Gotland Martial Arts Federation, in cooperation with Stockholm Kung Fu Festival, Supremacy League, Idrottens Ö and Wisby Strand.

Stockholm-Gotland Martial Arts Federation is a regional part of The Swedish Budo & Martial Arts Federation, the governing body of 23 martial arts styles in Sweden.
